Unknown Hero

They breed ‘em tough on Hessle Road
So the would be bomber found
When confronted by a lass from Road
Who  didn't hang around.
I'm from Hessle Road she'd said
As she chased him away
Molotov Cocktail unthrown
As that lassie saved the day.
Peaceful cafe clients enjoying
That sunny summer day
Saved from burns or worse
As she sent him on his way
No more is known
Just at this stage
The police are looking for
A man about sixty years of age.
As for that brave woman
Apparently shunning fame
She'd very quickly left the scene
Without leaving any name.
So here's to the lass from Road
A credit to our town
Who bravely stood and faced
A would be petrol  bomber down.

From am incident at Zig Zags, Boulevard, Sunday 21 July  as reported by Hull Live
