In the flesh Jesus suffered,
Arm yourself the same way;
Thinking being buffered,
If you no longer stray.
Live for the rest of time,
Without human passions;
Giving up any crime,
With seductive fashions.
For the time that has past,
Suffices for doing;
That just seem not to last,
Such shameful pursuing.
Lawless adultery,
Of sensual pleasures;
For lewd intimacy,
Lusting adulterers.
To this with all respect,
They seem to be surprised;
The malign to reject,
That the Lord has despised.
They will answer to Him,
Judge living and the dead;
And make their fate look grim,
In a fiery bed.
Though judged in flesh that way,
They might through the Spirit;
Show they trust and obey,
Through faith they inherit.
The end of all at hand,
Remember self-control;
Sober-mind at demand,
So that God keeps your soul.
Keep loving each other,
Since love covers most sin;
Think of one another,
Hospitable within.
Each has received a gift,
To serve one another;
Good stewards to uplift,
Motivate your brother.
So, speak as oracles,
To strengthen and incite;
How God works miracles,
So, others see the light.
