CELESTIAL ETERNITY

To Walk The Heavens

To Walk The Heavens
Author: Mark V. Markov

To walk the heavens
To lay on the cloud
Full of joy
Full of peace

Someday to have a new body
For all eternity
That can appear
And disappear
Someday to have a new body
For all eternity
That still can taste
The food and drink

As Jesus Christ appeared
In His resurrected body
Behind closed doors
To the disciples
Showed them the scars
And then ate the food

Someday at the day of resurrection of all believers
Those that have Jesus Christ as their Savior
Will receive the new body
Of resurrection

To walk the heavens
To lay on the cloud
Full of joy
Full of peace

Someday to have a new body
For all eternity
That can appear
And disappear
Someday to have a new body
For all eternity
That still can taste
The food and drink...

John 20:25-30 English Standard Version (ESV)

25 So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord."
But he said to them,
"Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails,
and place my finger into the mark of the nails,
and place my hand into his side, I will never believe."

26 Eight days later, his disciples were inside again,
and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked,
Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you."

27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands;
and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe."

28 Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!"

29 Jesus said to him,
"Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those
who have not seen and yet have believed."

Luke 24:36-53 English Standard Version (ESV)

36 As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them,
"Peace to you!"

37 But they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit.

38 And he said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see.
For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have."

40 And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

41 And while they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling,
he said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?"

42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish,

43 and he took it and ate before them.

44 Then he said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you,
that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets
and the Psalms must be fulfilled."

45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,

46 and said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer
and on the third day rise from the dead,

47 and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations,
beginning from Jerusalem.

48 You are witnesses of these things.

49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you.
But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."
The Ascension

50 And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them.

51 While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

52 And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

53 and were continually in the temple blessing God.

Mark 14:22-25 English Standard Version (ESV)

22 And as they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them,
and said, "Take; this is my body."

23 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them,
and they all drank of it.

24 And he said to them, "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.

25 Truly, I say to you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when
I drink it new in the kingdom of God."
