How Does It, How Do You Matter

does my head hurting
belong in a poem
does the fact that the world
is on fire and that people are
over-heated belong (HERE)
does it matter that I feed the crows
and the squirrels almonds every day
do any of these small things belong here
in this poem

do the details of  your life
randomly seem not to matter

do you care if I write poems full of
in-congruent grocery lists
do you really care what I think
or does what anyone else thinks matter
do you talk to strangers on the bus
OR do you
deliberately avoid idle chatter

do you say thank you for the fresh coffee
remembering to say little things that matter
truly, thank you so much...
Have a great day
I see you
Oh, I'm sorry
You ARE right
I hear you
yes, you do truly matter

does your head hurt from all the minutiae
you think
hear
and see
every day
OR
do the thought clouds of yours simply pile up then scatter

do you wonder if any one else is thinking of you
in this moment
right now

(how much
do you care
would you say it --
does it matter
how much or how little
if or do or do not
matter?)
