Rainbow Pale to Stay

I took a walk, through time
Past the gray, to skies of blue
I asked you why you had to go?
You said,
My time on earth was through
We walked a little further
And I hung my head and wept
You said, ‘why do you cry?
Why is it that you haven’t slept?
I searched your eyes for answers
But you just smiled, while time flew
You pointed out the many faces
Of all of those you knew
I asked you where it is you roam
You said, ‘freedom is grand!
I asked,
Why is it, you radiate with youth?
You said, ‘because this is God’s plan
I said, but I’m so sad without you!
You said, time has a way of slipping by
Like clouds slowly rolling past the sun
Like all that pain waving goodbye
I looked at you and saw pure love
The kind that never fades away
I said, I think I understand
And saw a rainbow pale to stay

 I Love You
Bemo

Written for my grandmother
who loved unconditionally

I dreamt this dream and wrote this poem about our visit
