Brighten My Place
Gazing on a smiling moon
It calls to me tonight
I reach in soft delight
A crescent silver light
When I was young and small
I thought the moon would fall
Mama told me, "Don't worry at all
Moonlight stands strong and tall."
Now I stand at, my midnight windowpane
I stretch and reach but nothing do I gain
My master prefers I play with my rubber mouse
She can't keep up with window paw prints all through the house.
Someday I'll reach the moon, perhaps no day soon
A magic carpet ride will gracefully guide
The ride to outer space, a trip of feline grace
For now, the light just brightens my place
