As the Lungs of the Earth
Blaze away in the Amazon,
Glacial melt bleeds
Ever faster into the seas
And extinctions speed
Uncontrollably along,
Worldwide
The privileged still amass
Their power and wealth,
Squabble over etiquette
While feeding nonsense
To the masses,.
Cavernous eyes
Of starving children peer
From television screens,
But not in my backyard,
And the Earth slips
Ever closer to being
Made uninhabitable,
Our mote of dust
Drifting along in the
Endlessness of time
And space
We have indeed created
A truly Godless world
