I thank God whom I serve,
As did my ancestors;
I use a learning curve,
As tempting resisters.
In my prayers day and night,
Having a clear conscience;
Keeping the future bright,
Giving me the patience.
I remember the tears,
Longing to see the Lord;
With joy that reveres,
To be in one accord.
A faith that has dwelt first,
As one that is sincere;
That causes me to thirst,
For calming any fear.
I need to fan the flame,
His Spirit is a gift;
The reason I proclaim,
That helps me to uplift.
Spirit filled with power,
Love and self-control;
Generates each hour,
And purifies my soul.
I cannot be ashamed,
Giving declaration;
Honor as it proclaimed,
Of the celebration.
He called us to be saved,
To a holy calling;
No longer sin enslaved,
To divine befalling.
For through the appearing,
Of Christ our Savior;
Those that are revering,
He looks on with favor.
The Holy Spirit dwells,
For good things committed;
While Jesus Christ tells,
We have been acquitted.
