The heart once gentle and kind, now broken

Tears reflect a missing smile

Grief dwells there a very long while

Unjustly shunned, kindness rejected

Life moves on, choice is built upon

Differences aid, compromises made

Sorrow makes a trade

Countless misunderstandings fade

compassion is now displayed
