I say walk by the Spirit,

And you will not gratify;

Desires you inherit,

From the flesh you will deny.

For the fleshy desires,

That the Spirit are against;

Oppose what God requires,

Contradicts why Christ was sent.

These conflicts with each other,

Keep doing to fulfill lust,

Contradicts with your brother,

To share in the God, you trust.

If the Spirit does lead you,

You are not under the Law;

And to God you remain true,

Preventing you from a flaw.

Lustful flesh is evident,

With thoughts of impurity;

Arrogance and impudent,

Having immorality.

Envious idolatry,

Along with fits of anger;

Jealousy and rivalry,

Boozing and being vulgar.

I warned you just as before,

Those who are doing such things;

Will never enter the door,

Inheriting what God brings.

Fruit of the Spirit is love,

Kindness in having patience;

As joy and peace from above,

Will come from His assurance.

For those who belong to Christ,

Their flesh has been crucified;

Because no longer enticed,

When you have been sanctified.

Your desires and passions,

No longer within your life;

For your lusts and affections,

Having now become your strife.

Let us not be conceited,

Provoking one another;

Nor the past be repeated,

By envying each other.
