We are a City of water
On the banks of the Humber,l
Split by the River Hull,
Where once the old docks,
Thriving and packed full,
Halted the city to allow
The shipping to enter
Through locks and bridges
Almost into the City Centre.
The City is changed now.
The busy docks are found
To the east of the City
Out by the City bounds.
Bridges now seldom open
To cut the City in two
Jamming traffic for miles
For ships to move through.
Town Dry docks now closed,
The fishing fleet a thing of the past,
Through hardship and necessity
The city has changed at last.
