There will never be another You
There will never be another you,
you have always been my lovely twin
brother in this world of mine.
You may never know all those thoughts
all those years, I've thought
of you, with love.
All the fun we had, in our growing
years, were the years we went
camping, those beautiful three
weeks every year,
Walking the railroad tracks
getting lost in the woods, while
Lassie got sprayed by a sunk
having to sleep outside the
trailer house.
Meeting new friends, and you
talking about the girls you
just met, while I talked about
the boys I just met, feeding
chip monks and squirrels, by hand
all the peanuts they could eat.
So many beautiful memories
I have to hang on to, remembering
that rainy day you played your
gold plated horseshoes you'd
won, in the middle of the yard.
All the funny things you said
and done, they will always be locked
up in my memory vault.
You have been dead so many years
I only wish you could see my oldest
son dear brother of mine, he is
the picture of you.
So when I look at him, how could
I never forget you, and your charming
ways! he looks and acts just like you, still,
there will never be another you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wrote this for my twin brother
John, who passed over, in 1977
I shall never forget our time we had
together. John was only twenty-seven
when he passed.
(My oldest son William, is the picture of him)
