 Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

poetryofadove
I call upon you O Lord,
Would you please hasten to me;
Give ear not to be ignored,
As I call on you to see.

Let my prayer to be incense,
With the lifting of my hands;
Because I feel so intense,
As to what this life demands.

Set a guard over my lips,
Watching the door of my tongue;
No unkind word that it slips,
Allowing it to be flung.

Lean not my heart to evil,
Or be in wicked deeds;
Steer me far from the devil,
Not to cater to his needs.

Let the righteous man strike me,
Let him scold me with kindness;
His wisdom and insight see,
Of all my sinful blindness.

Let not my head to refuse,
Ignore evil in my prayer;
No longer let me abuse,
Of your ever-loving care.

When their judges have been thrown,
They shall be hearing my word;
For everyone will stone,
After the public has heard.

As the plows break up the earth,
So shall their bones be scattered;
No longer to see their worth,
Being beaten and battered.

But my eyes are toward the Lord,
Because I am defenseless;
Let me be in one accord,
As to feel the righteousness.

Keep me from the trap as laid,
The snares from evildoers;
I have become so afraid,
Of the wicked pursuers.

Let the wicked trip and fall,
While I pass my escape;
Ignore them and mute their call,
Letting the darkness to rape.
