The Rooster

My mother had a rooster a beauty made of glass. It Sat upon a kitchen shelf about it mum did gas. She had it nearly twenty years a present from her mother. Mum had many ornaments but she loved it like no other. Then came that fateful day my Lord it was no joke. I remember that day very well, the day that it got broke. Playing football in the kitchen just having a laugh. The ball went up into the air and broke rooster in half. Well as you may well understand us kids were in a panic. We knew that when mum discovered this she would go flipping manic. I put the two halves together. Not a very good disguise but when mum picked it up to clean it she had a bad surprise. That rooster just fell in half she couldn't believe her eyes. Which one of you has done this mum asked quite angrily. I quickly held my hand up and said that it was me. My punishment that I did get was not at all that bad. I had to clean the garden up supervised by my dad. Mum never found another one a rooster to replace. Now there is an elephant that has the pride of place.
