Love the smell of first rain on dry soil
Love the fragrance of the coming rain
Love the cool breeze on hottest days
Love the smell of the just cut grain
Love sitting out nights of full moons
Nights listening to the crickets sing
Love the singing of the whip birds
The fragrances wild flowers bring
Well polished boots and saddles
Billy tea boiled under big old tree
Home fresh bread and scones hot
Home grown fruit picked with glee
Calling in when in town to the pub
A large well earned coldest beer
A chat of the weather with mates
The sight of free to run bush deer
Adore my horse my dog best mate
I'd better say how I love the wife
Life and all I love would not be
Without her a man'd be in strife
The smell of a home made stew
And always loved a leg of mutton
Doing things the old school way
And Sunday dinners I'm a glutton
Love end of week and jobs done
Up to date with all chores to do
Nights on veranda a little tune
On harmonica might be even two
Love baked rabbit now and again
The rifles always in back of truck
Now and then I'll see one around
Who's just one could say out of luck
Fresh laid eggs freshest cow milk
For breakfast Tea and hottest toast
The peaches from tree out the back
Bush Living peace of mind the most
