The morning seemed dark and weary, windows frosted clearly
Standing in the dawn peace found a place to tread upon
Laughter filled the house, and sunshine was a state of mind, the hour became so kind
Little feet darting down the hall before me smiles seemed ten feet tall

She was four he was two, their light came shining through
Little kitten in her arms purring in delightful charm
Now a day of play and storytelling, maybe some protest yelling
The lively moments that I will keep when they're tucked- into sleep

Odd how quick tears will dry when playful smiles come racing by
The little dreary day is just a moments chill, life still has a depth to fill
Precious moments, and fun survives in our lives
When loneliness walks away and teardrops dry on any day
