Bless be God, Father of the Lord,
The Father of mercy and grace;
God of comfort who is adored,
Comforts us with His sweet embrace.
He comforts us from affliction,
So that we are able to comfort;
Those who are in any addiction,
Going through a sinful effort.
With comfort, comforted by God,
Sharing the sufferings of Christ;
Abundantly sharing to laud,
Honoring what was sacrificed.
We are afflicted for comfort,
For your comfort and salvation;
The understanding we exert,
In building a new foundation.
You experience and endure,
The sufferings that we suffer;
With a hope that remains secure,
Because Christ remains a buffer.
Our hope for you unshaken,
Because we know that as you share;
For that we are not forsaken,
Everything we speak in prayer.
Afflictions we experience,
With travelling throughout each day;
To God our obedience,
Preventing us going astray.
For we were utterly burdened,
Beyond our strength so despaired;
Causing us to become weakened,
Making us to be ill-prepared.
Like a death sentence we received,
But God raises us from the dead;
Because of what we have believed,
With the faith that we have been fed.
He delivered us from such peril,
With the help given through your prayer;
Able to cure when feeling ill,
Showing how much each of you care.
