PERSUASIVE

(On Eve of the deal. 17th, August 2010. @1515hrs)

Persuasive be the cry
While I stand by Heaven's door
I hear an angel say
“It is not yet your time”.

Persuasive be the bang;
Persuasive – “I'd leave now!”
I'd turn away but heard
A voice say “you should lose”.

Persuasive – for years I'd been
Searching for this one gold
With denials as hope
Scurrying, looking for hope.

Persuasive – sad and sick
And wanting everything
And hating everything
And loving nothing seen.

Persuasive be the call
Devoid of every hope
Yet, I bestirred myself –
I still counted on hope.

Oh, mighty drove – the power!
The will to wait all time.
The zeal to follow hard
Till I but get the prize!

One day an angel turned
By out of the shut door
And said “Is your name Mike?”
I said “no” – said he “wait”.

Another came but out
After but several years
And said “Is your name Luke?”
I said “no” so he went.

And while I cheered the fire
And faced the cold and cried
And fretted by the door
I heard the door but move.

By now, the wishes sang
I heard the harp reply
All I could hear was this –
A subtly soft “come in”.

Oh yes! I loved my dream
Waited for destiny
And never would have it
Interchanged for anything.

“Which way?” the way did say
“Do you choose of paradise?
The southern wheat-filled floor
Or golden newest north?”
