THE WEATHER

The weather is harsh
My pole may be down
And my boat may sink
But never heard said in heaven
“They hardly get it down”.

The cold frost's a bane
My brain is but froze
I see no other way
In the black sea
I am only left alone to face death.

The wind tumbles on
The parchments but fail
My courage is vain
My muscles but mocked
But never heard them say in heaven
“They hardly get it down”.
