Absolution
If absolution is your goal,
oh, why then do you wait
to square the foibles of your past
before it is too late?
Even though you've let so many down
by thoughtless words and deeds,
it's not too late to make things right
no matter where that leads.
Just beg them to forgive you
for every unpaid debt
and thereby prove to those abused
that you feel true regret.
So, if absolution is your goal
you can't afford to wait,
to square the foibles of your past
before it is too late.
