Turkey Shoot 2015

It's all for the good of the country
The Dear Leader had declared
And challenged them to disagree
But not a single worker dared,
And he told them of Austerity
That great and Beneficent God
That caused the people grief
And nobody really found it odd

The Dear Leader and his Advisers,
Their extended families and friends,
Grew  sleek and fat and wealthy
Against all the abiding trends.
And that Great God Austerity
Squeezed the people until they cried
And many of them slept hungry
And some also sickened and died.

It was for the good of the country
The people still accepted
Though many had lost heart and
Became depressed and dejected.
In spite of this they carried on
Continued to accept it all
For the brainwashing said We Brits
Are best with our backs against the wall.

And so the Dear Leader
Grew well and waxed fat
Amazed that the people still
Believed such rubbish as that,
And when the election came
And the people had their say
Once more the turkeys, amazingly,
Went and voted for Christmas Day.
