The Christmas season is upon us
And special joy seeps through the earth.
It is the season to be jolly...
As we celebrate our Savior's birth.
Church bells ring to tell the story...
Choirs sing of Christmas cheer...
And, O, the faces of the children
As day by day the time draws near!
But, let us think back through the ages...
Of how a Virgin bore a child...
A child of Holy Ghost conception...
So that man and God could reconcile.
Mary's child was gifted to her
But, also, gifted to the world...
A precious gift who brought salvation
As His mission here unfurled.
O, the beauty of this story...
Angels sang and shepherds bowed...
Three Wise Men ended their long journey
By joining this adoring crowd!
Can we just picture this sweet baby
Lying on a bed of hay?
The fact He was an infant Saviour
Could never be more clear today.
The Angels made this proclaimation
To the Shepherds in the field.
"For born to you this day a Saviour"
Was a mystery they revealed.
Yes, beginning with this little baby...
A glorious gift from up above...
God blessed us all with His forgiveness...
And with the wonders of His love.

Luke 2: 6-12 6 And so it was, that, while they were there,
the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him
in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger;
because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding
in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the
glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold,
I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David
a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
