       I love all my Mommies                 12/3/19

1woman birth me
5 others helped rear me
To be
The man I am before thee

Thank you momma for birthing me to the game of life…
You did well to protect, provide, and prepare we for things
To come but
Along the way
many trials and tribulations
We had to overcome;

It takes the village to rear the children
And where I'm concerned 5 other women
Kept my soul from disappearing
from Earth's physical prism;

Aunt Lydia held me down
Since the day my dome first crowned
And along my journey,
she is the Matriarch that wears the Crown (Queen)
Like a Grandmother to me but physically my Auntie;

She bore witness when adults (my momma and her)
First heard me speak at age 3
"Momma Melanie going to jail?"
Shocked, dazed, and confused,
They stood paralyzed
While I patiently awaited the news…
"no baby,
It's the outcome when we continuously break the rules"

Now here is the one that has always kept me blessed
even though she didn't come from my Grandfather's sweat;

No threat because she (Gina) has always been around
to help protect my scrawny little neck
And she does it with such grace and elegance
No matter the drama from others
Or my Momma,
Aunt Virginia has never faltered
When it comes to the nephew of her husband (Uncle Jr.);

I've been blessed to have loving women (mothers)
In my life
Even after picking up the knife and throwing it
Almost taking my brother's life.

Now Aunt Cheryl
Well what can I say
A provider for we in so many ways it's not funny
But Loving;

Gave to we when cash didn't grow from seeds
Planted guaranteed to produce money trees;
Gladly paid the fees when money turned funny
Without expected or asking for the return of a single penny
Another one of my earthly Mommies (Aunt Cheryl);

Jackie my Cousin, Mother;
Has been there since my adolescence
Patiently teaching me that blessings are effervescent
When bestowed from heaven;

When I had to get to stepping
because Momma started backstepping
Jackie stepped in to relieve the pressure;

If not for Corey's and Courtney's Mother
My pen would probably not be scribing this poetry (masterpiece)
at three in the morning…

She did what was best for me when I lacked the vision to physically see,
But the God in me said "go with Jackie son of Me"
Thank you Jackie for loving me as if I was a sibling of Courtney and Corey;

Lastly and defiantly not the less is my mother's second oldest sibling,
Still till this day watching and protecting me;
Marion Kathy Farve,
you will always be
spiritually, physically, and mentally in my heart and soul's memory…
Auntie you did for me and my Queen (Momma)
when adulthood for us was out of cosmic karma…
Took my Momma in when her world was churning out of control,
Then opened your door's when divorce kicked me out my home…
Guided my steps while I nursed my heart's wounds
Told me
"baby I knew that girl's chakra's were out of tune…"

still, till this day,
my Auntie is battling on,
wagging war with the big c
letting the evils know her war has already been won
because she is the calm before and after our family's storm…
because we are the
Tree, roots, bark, branches, plus the leaves
Representing all the women (mothers) that helped rear me
Thank you Queens!!!
