Remember that being in time past, By what is called circumcision; While able to pray and fast, Remembering your confession. At that time, you were without Christ, Aliens from the commonwealth; Strangers while being enticed, Immorality in your health. A stranger to the covenant, Having no hope and without God; For it has become apparent, You have become extremely flawed. Now in Christ, you were once removed, Brought near by the blood of Christ; Because of what you have behooved, Reason why He was sacrificed. For Jesus Christ is our peace, Who is making us all as one; But hostility does not cease, Attempts to divide from the Son. Abolish the Law of Commandments, As expressed in ordinances; But live as in the testaments, Not judging the eminences. He might reconcile us all, To God one body through the cross; That the hostility will fall, Freeing us from sin through the loss. He came as He was preaching peace, Preaching peace to those who were near; Giving our lives a new lease, If we are able to revere. Through Jesus we all have access, In one Spirit to the Father; If we are willing to confess, We can call Christ our Brother. Then you are no longer strangers, Rather as fellow citizens; Shielded from satanic dangers, No longer being aliens. It is built on a foundation, With Christ being the cornerstone; Unified having salvation, No longer to face life alone. Copyright © 2019 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
