The Fish Stealer

She sits on the County Council now
A Person of some local status
But to me she's just person who
Went and stole my  fish

It was closing time at the pub
About half past eleven I think
And as the duty driver I'd not
Had any alcohol to drink.
So it was off  to the chippy
For our Friday night treat
Fried fish and taties
To take home and eat.
Fish and chips four times I ordered
One each for  them and one for me.
When it came to the chips that was fine
But for the fish she only packed three.

I asked her politely to check
As one of our  fish was missing.
Angrily she reacted like a kettle
Spitting and boiling and hissing
She been working here for years
She said who was I did I think
To come and make accusations
When I was full of drink
My friends though i was mistaken
And I said that's just fine
But when we sit down to eat
The one that's missing  isn't mine.

Of course we unpacked
As soon as we got there
And being all close friends
We agreed for once to share
For one of our fish was missing
That  server from down south
Hadn't engaged her brain
Before she'd opened her mouth .
Now i'm a Yorkie born and bred
And my memory is just fine
And I never ever forget one
Who's been rude to me and mine

She's still a County Councillor
Still a person of local status
But to me she's just thar gobby bird
Who went and stole my fish.
