I rejoice greatly to find, Children walking in the truth; For being gentle and kind, Instead of being uncouth. Not as though I was writing, To you a new commandment; Rather to be delighting, Of having a commitment. The One we have from the start, That we love one another; To keep it in our heart, With each sister and brother. For this is love that we walk, From as to what we have heard; Like the shepherd to His flock, As commanded in the Word. Some deceivers have gone out, Those who would never confess; A deceiver raising doubt, That Jesus is the access. For the antichrist watches, So that you lose your reward; Like a vulture he clutches, His prey away from the Lord. Whoever does not abide, In of instructions of Christ; And allows others to guide, Are immorally enticed. If anyone comes to you, And does not bring this teaching; Receive not being untrue; And ignore of his preaching. Whoever greets him takes part, Partaker of evil deeds; Will have a corrupted heart. That the iniquities feeds. I wrote to you many things, But rather talk face to face; For the wondrous works God brings, Fill you with joy of His grace.
