Peppermint Candy

A softer word
not so hard to speak the sound
Or wish rays of peppermint raining down.

Your hand in mine
Church bells ringing, Cellos singing
and children playing in the sun
Not anguish from a smoking gun.

Humble dreams
To remember what forgiveness means
A smile a touch, With hope to see
Love that blossoms endlessly.

Tempered hearts
Beating song is where love starts
And making new and lasting love
Up above, Up above.

Save a soul
Not blinded by the greed of shame
Or tarnished by the falling rain
But spoken with the pride of sound
and peppermint candy was raining down.
