Hallelujah ! Hallelujah !

Once again, I think of you my love
as the beating drums of oppression keep us apart
another day, another war, not peaceful melody.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah sing a song of glee
Hallelujah, Hallelujah sing a song for me.

Rifles blazing on and on as trumpets sound the sound
another day leave fallen souls on the sodden ground
Yet one by one we march along shedding all our fear
as crying widows far away shed another tear.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah will this ever end
Hallelujah, Hallelujah goodbye my only friend.

Coffins draped in widows tears are honored from above
and folded flags are handed out to families with our love
as playing bands and honor guards march in step with pride
beside my fallen heroes, I lay there by their side.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Please say a prayer for me
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, I'm home where I should be.
