My beau geste.

My farewell gaze
Following
A blushing sun,
Aroused in primal
A wonder.

A melancholy advance
As day retreats,
My resistance
Wanes.

Emotion takes hold
Thoughts are away,
On a wistful excursion
A dreamt destination.

Giggles of delight
A small boy plays
In lazy light.
Absorbed reasoning
Evaporates,
Warmth spreads
Through a sombre chest,
As this little adventurer
Is my son, my Beau Geste.
