The Mind Speaks

Trials of love

My heart has been wrenched,
Like never before.
My first born son,
Whom I loved and adored.
Involved in things,
One could never dream.
This person you loved,
Is not who they seem.
So young, so far to go,
With pain to carry, the woe!
A thief and a liar
Meddling in drugs,
Soul became noir.
Spent time in jail. Only 18.
Thinking upon release,
He'd want to be clean.
Turn things around,
You prayed and hope for.
But his heart is hardened,
And he's back for more.
I still love him to death.
Pray until I'm blue.
Never give up on him,
That's what a mother must do.
