LISTENING TO THE CHILDREN PLAY By Terrence michael Sutton, www.PoetryPoem.com/aussiepoet Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
Sitting on the porch one morning
Listening to all the children play
Several different colors of skin
And I hear one out there say
In answer to something one said
How many colors are the birds
And we all love birds so dearly
From a small one precious words
Every one were the best of friends
All getting along fine as if family
Laughing playing enjoying their life
Words of a child made sense to me
Gave me so much there to think of
Only children so much love for all
Had me think about a man long ago
Who gave up all for good called Saul
I went in and got a big jar of goodies
Things that children love eating so
Said find a spot that's in the shade
Should have seen their eyes glow
Peace on earth is still very possible
They all are our hopefully tomorrow
Every one all so much care and love
Maybe tomorrow no more sorrow
