Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

Not mine to be…
Between each sunrise I sit and wonder
Of all in life I’ve seen…?
The deep blue seas, the world in bloom
Though darkness always shadowed my dreams.
Always the thought of disaster
No matter how blue the sky
Always the fear that love will just leave me
No matter how hard I’ve tried.
Now here I am in my sixties
Pondering the life that I knew
Trying to understand the complexities of life
And things I have done and will do?
I am still alone but I am quite happy
All that's missing is a small part of me
Love is that thing that is missing
But love was not mine to be.
