You were called to freedom, But use not for a chance; Motive to the Kingdom, Personally advance. Rather to serve through love, To serve one another; For blessings from above, Caring for each other. The whole Law is fulfilled, For loving your neighbor; As yourself is instilled, Both leisure and labor. To bite and devour, One another watch out; Misuse not the power, That would shed any doubt. So, walk by the Spirit, You will not gratify; Desires to merit, To morally deny. For fleshy desires, Are against the Spirit; From Satan acquires, Pleasures to inherit. If led by the Spirit, You are not neath the Law; And you will inherit, As you answer the call. Flesh works are evident, Through immorality; By being impudent, Strife and impurity. Impure thoughts and envy, Drunkenness and anger; Rivals and jealousy, All are causing danger. All things that are like these, As I give a warning; Are things that do not please, Lastly turn to mourning. If you belong to Christ, The flesh is crucified; No longer be enticed, That it had satisfied. Copyright © 2020 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
