The Backyard Of My Life

Paper Thin Heart

I've got a paper thin heart
Torn a little down the middle
Covered in embers and ashes
From words of cruelty crashing on the page
Tragedy and sorrow stain
Chapters in the story

Its tender its fragile
Its a waterfall of tears
In a valley of broken dreams
Where the sunshine disappears

I've got a paper thin heart
Burned by love and cheap cigarettes
Regrets rejections rumors and gossip
Have the run of the mill
To form a foundation of pain

Its restless its damaged
So handle it with care
If you open Pandora's box
Its hell in there

I've got a paper thin heart
Worn out and frayed
Full of handwriting and memories i made
There's paragraphs of punishments
I sentenced myself to
Living inside a glass house

Its tender its fragile
Its a waterfall of tears
In a valley of broken dreams
Where the sunshine disappears
I've got a paper thin heart
I've got a paper thin heart
I've got a paper thin heart
