It was an ever so earthly dawn
Something awoke me that day
It was my day off me to sleep in
Made a coffee come what may
Made my way slowly outside
Went out sat in old seat there
Took the deepest breath then
I noticed how beautiful the air
Ever fresh and ever so clean all
The very start of a brand new day
Dawn came up ridding all shadows
A kookaburra it called then G'day
Old dog looked at me curled again
Horses lifted heads only for awhile
As colour's changed rearranged
The driveway it came to be a mile
No work today or as if pitching hay
Roosters quit their nights crowing
Chickens wondered here and there
Slowly one could see as if the going
She who must be obeyed came out
How come you're out of bed to say
She looked around still not a sound
Grunted I'm back with a short hooray
I then began to liking early dawn ag'en
Thinking we miss the best time of day
And loving some the rising of the sun
A missed peace on earth here to stay
