Poetic-Verses
'' I Was Never Religious ''
As this journey ends,
A new one begins,
The afterlife, they tell me awaits,
Many twists and bends,
Who loses who wins?
When we reach, those Heavenly gates.
Will mistakes I corrected,
Before I left,
Have a bearing on where I will go,
Will I be selected,
Or left bereft,
In all honesty, does anyone know.
As no-one's returned,
From beyond the grave,
To inform us that, yes, it's all true,
Whether buried or burned,
Which bit do they save?
Is what's left, what you can call you?
The human mind,
Is truly unique,
We're either sane, or completely mad,
We're so easy to blind,
Our intelligence is weak,
To claim otherwise, is bordering on sad.
Are Heaven and Hell,
Just fantasy ideals,
Created to bring us into line,
Who can tell,
Are there any appeals,
Against those they class as divine.
We're so easily led,
Open to abuse,
By gods we worship as prodigious,
Before I'm dead,
I'll become a recluse,
I'm so happy,
' I Was Never Religious '
