God is known and His name is great,
He has established His abode;
Zion is the dwelling place to wait,
For believers who have followed.
His name is great in Israel,
His tabernacle in Salem;
At the top of a sacred hill,
Overlooking Jerusalem.
There He broke the flashing arrows,
The shield and the weapons of war;
That has caused so many sorrows,
On the soldiers leaving a scar.
So glorious is our Lord,
More majestic than the mountains;
Excellence cannot be ignored,
Water flowing from the fountains.
For the mountains are full of prey,
The stouthearted have been spoiled;
They sank into sleep where they stay,
From their labor that they toiled.
None of them cannot use their hands,
Rebuking the God of Jacob;
Both rider and horse shun commands,
Lying stunned and while they snub.
They are cast into a dead sleep,
They are not conscious or aware;
What the new day the Lord will reap,
And with the willingness to share.
The Lord is always to be feared,
Who can ever stand before Him;
Once as His anger has appeared,
Their life will then feel mighty grim.
From Heaven judgment is uttered,
As the earth had feared and was still;
Judgment arose demands ordered,
The fate upon them to His will.
Just save the humble and the meek,
For the wrath of man surely praise;
The remainder of wrath to seek,
To restrain from straying always.
Make your vows pay unto the Lord,
Bring your gifts to the One revered;
As you remain in one accord,
By the kings of the earth is feared.
