Wherefore art thou oh Lord?

Wherefore art thou oh Lord?
I search for thee high. I
am on a quest to find thee
low. How far must I go?

Wherefore art thou oh Lord?
I searched for thee all
around the globe. I traveled
beyond the heavenly spire.

Wherefore art thou oh Lord?
I journey into the oceans
deep. But thou wast not
even there.

Wherefore art thou oh Lord?
I briefly sojourned into
the center of thine earth.
But thou wast not even there.

Wherefore art thou oh Lord?
I could not discover thy
voice in the windy sea.
Wherefore the wind doth
blow.

Wherefore art thou oh Lord?
I could not hear thy blessed
voice in the maddening crowd.

But wherefore art? Will I ever
find thee? And then thine own
answer findeth me. I heard
thine own still quiet voice
calling me.

Please be still. My peace I
leave thee. When thou art
troubled and despaired I
will shelter thee under
the shelter of mine
wings.

Love in Christ Jesus!
