Just when you think
All is well and
You are in control,
It strikes so deep.
Hitting very hard
Deep in the heart
Pining and longing
Of lonely heart.
Superficial self-control
Over ourselves
Is lost in a second
Of striking the heart.
Emotions are flooded
Breaking the banks
Of a fragile dam
Bursting the heart
Swept away in a flood
Drowned underwater
Sinking in sorrow
Of longing for love.
