My Life (post divorce and empty nest) in Sonnets
Handsome
Original Contemporary Poetry by Author, Jean Parr
Handsome
I met this man, a handsome man, putting myself out on a limb
I was hesitant to reveal too much about myself, scarred
He had this patient, supportive, kind way about him
I let down my guard
As we learned a little more about each other
I found that he vetted me online, which must have been stressful
An absolutely perfect thing to do, as there might be things needing to be uncovered
One can never be too careful
As I began letting him in with clarity
I found that he made me feel safe and protected
Safety is and will always be my number one priority
He tells me everyday that I'm beautiful, selected
Both of us jumped into relationships too fast
We both deserve that forever someone to make it last
