A year of Monday mornings;
Of very differing ends;
A year of longest days and
Of turmoil for my friends.
A year of changing alliances,
Of betrayal and sorrow,
Whole long months when
I've dreaded the tomorrow.
One once admired person,
Deliberate causer of strife,
More pitied than despised
But now banned from my life.
Somehow this year ended
After a very shaky start
And, like the curates egg,
Being good only in part.
There are certain things
That I wish had never been
So it's with relief I say
Goodbye 2015.
We have survived,
We will win
By doing just do what
It says on the tin.
The future is bright
The future is here
So to all my friends,
