HOPELESSNESS

~HOPELESSNESS~

Staring at the fridge the cat waited
for the people to come back home.
Home alone the cat was forgotten
and trapped inside the locked doors

She knew that the food was in there;
only a question of opening the door.
A few days passed and the cat was so
desperate to have some food and water.

Without food and water the cat was
fading away fast and was hanging by
a fragile thread of small hope that
the food was there inside the fridge.

The people returned and saw the cat
waiting for food by the empty fridge.
Just before going on a short vacation
the fridge was emptied and defrosted.

They opened the door and the cat saw
that there was no food inside that fridge.
They looked at the cat to see what her
reaction was but - the cat was dead.
