THERE WAS NONE

"Insult has broken my heart, and I despair;

I looked for compassion, but there was none,

for comforters, but found none."

~ Psalms 69:21

Has the night endured
The betrayal of a kiss
Or has it sulked from
The devil’s trick—thirty-pieces
Of silver wrapped in deadly
Stench of guilt…
Iron boots and swords rushed
Into the shadows, torches
Were lighted in search
Of the lamb needed to
Be slaughtered.
Spittings and scourge weren’t
Enough. Tassels and phylacteries paraded,
Hurling the eye of ridicule.
His wailings were louder,
louder even more...
Finding solace from
the warm afternoon wind
because there was none.

Author's Note:

I remember when i was at my lowest point in my life
and i reflected on what happened to Jesus,
how He was betrayed and abandoned by His friends whom he dearly loved...
I realized how excruciating the pain was
but in the end he still chose Love which makes it all worth it.
