I bow my knees to the Father,
All in Heaven and earth are named;
Who has given us a Brother,
Which unto us has been proclaimed.
Granting to wealth of His glory,
You are strengthened with His power;
And acquitted by a jury,
At the future final hour.
For the power of His Spirit,
While in your inner being;
For guiding you through your merit,
From darkness that you are fleeing.
So that Christ may dwell in your heart,
Through faith that is rooted in love;
Enables the Word to impart,
Of heavenly thoughts from above.
May it have strength to comprehend.
With all the saints what is the length;
Reminding you God is a friend,
Who is willing to give you strength.
To know the love of Jesus Christ,
With the knowledge that surpasses;
You are filled who was sacrificed;
That God forgave your trespasses.
Now to Him who can do far more,
For transcending abundantly;
As well as who can reassure,
Not be done as reluctantly.
Granting the power within us,
As in the glory of the church;
Through all generations as thus,
For Christ Jesus throughout your search.
