CAN`T FORGET






CAN`T FORGET



It`s easy to close our eyes
To something we don`t want to see,
Simply bring the eyelids down
And from this sight we are then free.



We don`t look at it again
We simply walk the other way,
Don`t give it another thought
Just carry on and enjoy our day.



But the heart is something else,
Sadly we can`t just close our heart
To things we don`t want to feel
For they are there and won`t depart.



Feelings live on inside us
Things that cause pain and regret
The heart remembers all this
Though we`d like to try and forget.
