EXPECT COMPLICATIONS

No guarantees

risk can be exciting
and it can overwhelm

life's an unknown quantity
with no set formula
a mystery contemplated
only in full
finally
understood

animals
people
molecules
the direction of the wind
change
even defy you

you may have your rules
your expectations
who ever reads the fine print
who lives on your street
or meddles with your
little piece
of mind

peace?

expect chaos
world take overs
civilizations sometimes collapse

expect that atoms
drop and gain neutrons
and become something
entirely new

expect the elemental
the minute detail
to mutate
to alter itself

prepare to be surprised
and
bring lots of napkins

I can assure you of one thing

life is messy.
(expect complications...)
