The Backyard Of My Life

The Stranger

The stranger in the rain turns up his collar
While everybody else is lost in distraction
Fixed and focused caught up in the chains of sorrow
Manifesting there own misery
At a parade of un-painted dreams under the setting sun
The stranger knows he don't belong to anyone
Love is real fear is illusion
Somehow they got swept away in chaos and confusion
Forgetting life is only shadows on the wall

The stranger knows whats behind his eyes
Who he is where he comes from
Why everybody is wearing a mask
The inner light shines through the darkest hour
Pretending there victims helpless without power
The stranger sees you only get
what you settle for in society
You are all and everything be the change you want to see

In a thunder storm hes all alone
Marvels at the beauty of heavens bells ringing
Moving like a rolling stone
With the wind like a band of angels singing
The stranger sleeps softly tonight
There ain't no dark clouds around his soul
Seeking truth on the crooked trail
He knows what lies beyond the veil

The stranger never looks back at night
He goes Un-noticed and is after all invisible
To the naked eye
Leaving town at the break of day
Steps out when silence is golden
Never knows where hes going or how long he'll stay
Nobody owns him hes no puppet or a pawn in the game
Standing in a long leather jacket
After midnight in the falling rain
Which ever road he takes all roads lead to Somewhere
With no explanation without any goodbye
The stranger knows when its time to fly
Hanging from a ladder on the other side of the wall
Maybe someday we will see him hes awaiting on us all
