Do your best to come soon,
Diligence come shortly;
Come before the full moon,
Come righteous and holy.
Loving not of this world,
Deserted you and gone;
Because the Lord unfurled,
Plans to start a new dawn.
Read Luke so you can see,
Along with Mark be read;
Useful in ministry,
The knowledge to be fed.
Be sure to bring a coat,
For the weather turned cold;
Wearing it as a cloak,
With the books that you hold.
Be careful those who harm,
They are filled with evil;
Shelter with the Lord’s arm,
Guards against the devil.
Beware those who oppose,
The message that I write;
What they think I suppose,
Keeps them out of the light.
For at my first defense,
Nobody stood by me;
Because their thoughts are dense,
Their eyes too blind to see.
But the Lord stood by me,
Had given me the strength;
Through my poems you should see,
I stand at any length.
I preach as I proclaim,
Was saved from the lion;
As I still praise His name,
Await to reach Zion.
The Lord will rescue me,
From any evil deed;
His glory I can see,
Forever as I need.
