in every city
there's are doors into the floor
and yet
old men continue to build their
steel pyramids to their Gods
thinking they will be always be
remembered
steel rusts
its molecules are not
infallible
nothing escapes
natural physical laws
above us is only sky
and beyond that
even more sky
that's all there ever shall be
quieted earth
ever constant
often changing sky
and somewhere in between
the rain that falls eventually
upon us all
