Last roads

Stretching onwards last roads are endless.
We begin, start out unaware. That, this is
possibly The last road I'll travel. Not that I'm
ending traveling, oh know, just that, times are
laying fallow in my mind, the last road i travelled
led me nowhere, this one brings me back.

Where do these last roads begin and end, in our minds.
Are we forever traveling down last roads as we imagine
only for them to have no beginning or end, only endless
curves. I imagine my last road as a place never to return from
but, always a curve aligned in plain sight throws me back
to the endless sight of tarmac disappearing into the distance.

These last roads are but, wishful thinking. Always hoping I'd
stop, sigh, right that's it's the last road i travel then, some though
enters my mind. Such as time to go there's another road to travel
endless miles to traverse. Of course one truth always remains, we
end up back were we started.
